For the Integrated Media Processing group, we are looking for an Information Specialist in the field of Metadata Management starting 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.

Job Description

• Together with the group management, you are responsible for the operational metadata processing within the Integrated Media Processing group. In doing so, you develop and optimise existing processes, implement innovative ideas, coordinate documentation and ensure compliance with high quality standards.
• Thanks to your solid expertise in formal cataloguing according to RDA and in handling the GND, you actively contribute your specialist knowledge in practice and in relevant expert committees such as the EG Metadata of SLSP. There you competently and committedly represent the interests of the ETH Library.
• In your role as Functional Expert for Resource Management in Alma, you have in-depth system knowledge. You support smooth operation and contribute to the continuous optimisation of the system.
• Active participation in the operational tasks of formal cataloguing as well as in the GND editorial team is a matter of course for you. You appreciate the combination of conceptual responsibility and operational activity and bring your know-how purposefully into everyday work.

Profile

• You have a degree as an Information Specialist (BSc or MAS) and possess sound knowledge of the RDA rules, the MARC21 metadata standard, as well as experience in programming and artificial intelligence
• You analyse, condense and interpret complex data and information in a targeted manner
• You understand technical contexts, know organisational processes and workflows, and convince with a strong affinity for digital technologies
• You enjoy working in a team, communicate appropriately for the target audience and have excellent expression skills in German and English
• You actively share your knowledge within the organisation, promote cross-departmental collaboration and ideally bring experience in lateral leadership
