Your tasks
You will work in the logistics of Zolli and closely with the animal care staff to ensure the optimal supply of the zoo animals. This area is responsible for feed organisation and preparation, manure removal, mouse breeding, and the associated logistics within the zoo. In the butcher's department, you will support and represent the butcher in his varied activities. These include planned as well as emergency slaughters, processing of slaughter animals, and the provision of meat and fish for feeding.
What you bring
You have completed an apprenticeship as a butcher or meat specialist EFZ specialising in procurement and have already gained several years of professional experience. Hunting training and hunting experience are an advantage. You are a team player and possess good social skills. Even in hectic situations, you remain calm, work in a structured, very careful, and reliable manner. You are resilient, have a quick grasp, and are always interested in learning new things. You have very good German skills; knowledge of English and/or French is an advantage.
You regularly work on weekends. Thanks to long-term deployment planning, your work assignments are known well in advance. Residence in the Basel region is highly desirable.
