The Civil Registry Office Schaffhausen, one of four departments within the Resident Services division, is the partner for all important life events of our residents. We certify all civil status-related occurrences and ensure that these special moments are professionally documented.

Start date: 01.01.2027 or by arrangement

Civil Registrar

In this exciting role

• you advise customers at the counter and on the phone.
• you conduct marriage preparation procedures and weddings.
• you certify civil status events such as births, acknowledgements, marriages, and deaths.
• you prepare official extracts and other documents.

You will be successful here

• with a completed commercial apprenticeship (EFZ) and at least 3 years of experience in a commercial field (preferably in administration)
• due to your Federal Certificate of Competence as a Civil Registrar or your willingness to obtain it.
• because you appreciate short decision-making paths, independence, and high personal responsibility.
• due to your service orientation and strong communication skills.
• thanks to your flexibility and mobility to conduct weddings throughout the canton and occasionally on Saturdays.
• as you ideally possess good foreign language skills.
