What you can contribute

  • Operate the POLYCOM secure radio system for users of the army and affiliated federal organisations
  • Manage and configure end devices in collaboration with the responsible departments for operations and logistics
  • Ensure the seamless operation of the POLYCOM core infrastructure of the defence subnet
  • Participate in the project to further develop POLYCOM in the defence subnet from planning through design and development of sophisticated concrete solution proposals to testing, delivery and operation of the solutions
  • Ensure IT service management for long-term use of the services as well as representation in national working groups (as needed)
  • Create documentation, knowledge building and training for the operations team and users

What makes you unique

  • Training as an IT specialist (HF/FH), technician HF or engineer (HF/FH) in telecommunications or computer science
  • Sound knowledge of digital radio technology as well as basic understanding of mobile communication technologies (4G/LTE, 5G, Mobile Core, VoLTE, IMS)
  • Good knowledge of IP networks (TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, VPN, firewalls) as well as IT service management
  • Knowledge in monitoring, troubleshooting and quality assurance of communication systems
  • Basic knowledge of security aspects of communication networks (e.g. encryption, authentication, certificate management)
  • Structured and independent working style in operations and project environment, including collaboration with suppliers

Become part of the Cyber Command and be jointly responsible for the seamless and secure operation of Switzerland’s secure radio system for the benefit of the army and the authorities and organisations for protection and rescue (BORS).
