How you can contribute
- Design and control of business planning and coordination of the Army Staff to create the basis for forward-looking and effective leadership
- Ensure timely implementation of tasks and results through rolling planning, leadership calendars, and defined priorities and focal points
- Ensure planning and coordination of reports and leadership committees and their professional preparation and follow-up, as well as translate decisions into concrete measures and consistently monitor their implementation
- Prepare demanding matters, statements, and decision bases appropriately for the target audience and advise internal partners on the content and formal design of their contributions
- Ensure the quality of products and deliverables for the leadership committees of the Army Staff and the Defence Group, as well as the timely provision of relevant information
- Actively further develop leadership instruments and processes, contribute own ideas, lead working groups and projects, and impart knowledge within the framework of training
What makes you unique
- Advanced vocational training with 2 to 3 years of functionally relevant experience or vocational qualification with 4 to 7 years of functionally relevant experience
- Proven good knowledge of military procedures and the organisation and processes of the federal administration
- Good conceptual and editorial skills as well as analytical and systematic thinking ability
- Quick grasp of complex contexts, analytical thinking, and the ability to clearly and understandably present demanding issues both in writing and orally
- Independent, structured, and result-oriented working style, good sense of priorities, and the ability to maintain an overview even with parallel-running matters
- Strong communication skills with various stakeholders and the ability to assertively demand products

The Army Staff (A Staff) supports the Chief of the Army in leading the Defence Department area and is responsible for the overall military planning and development of the Swiss Army. According to political guidelines, strategic foundations, force development, and army and armament planning are developed here, and tasks in the international security context are performed. The leadership, control, and coordination of all overarching cross-sectional areas (personnel, finance, real estate) also fall within the responsibility of the Army Staff.
The Swiss Army employs over 9,000 people in four military and around 200 civilian professions – at 110 locations throughout Switzerland. The next generation is also taken care of: the Swiss Army trains apprentices in over 30 professions.
