About us

Financial Systems (SYS)
We maintain and develop the financial systems of the University of Bern. Our Application and Operations Support (ABS) assists users and coordinates support with the system operator. Master Data Management (SDM) ensures data quality, while Business Process Management (GPM) designs and optimises invoicing processes in particular. Our staff handle administrative and organisational tasks.

About the position
With the planned SAP go-live on 1 January 2027, an intensive stabilisation phase begins for our team. You will strengthen the Application and Operations Support (ABS) and Master Data Management (SDM) areas for two years, prioritise requests even during high ticket volumes, and contribute to reliable financial processes with a calm, solution-oriented approach.

Your tasks

• You process and prioritise support requests and incidents via our ITSM tool, develop solutions, and document them comprehensibly.
• You support end users and superusers with questions about SAP financial processes, especially invoicing and master data, and coordinate complex cases with the cantonal system operator.
• You support user and authorisation management including role changes and regular access reviews.
• You monitor interfaces and system messages, analyse errors, and contribute to sustainable solutions.
• You manage finance-relevant master data from creation through maintenance to blocking or deletion requests and also handle more complex cases.
• You check master data quality and assist with evaluations as well as the periodic technical CO closing.
• You coordinate tests and releases with the system operator and specialist departments and support migrations, rollouts, and other projects.
• You maintain support and training documentation and assist superusers and specialist departments with instructions and training.

Requirements

• Completed IT training (e.g. IT specialist EFZ) or degree in computer science or business informatics (HF, FH or university)
• Experience in ICT or application support; knowledge of ERP/SAP systems and ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow) is an advantage
• Technical understanding of authorisations, interfaces, error analysis and digital business processes as well as interest in master data and data quality
• Analytical, structured and independent working style as well as enjoyment in solving demanding support cases
• Good prioritisation skills, resilience and a calm, solution-oriented attitude even with a high volume of requests
• High service orientation, clear communication, teamwork and willingness to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics
