Impersonal and after 14 years you are rationalized away because more and more people are hired on the executive floor.

This works well in the company

Wage payment on time. Social benefits are in order.

This could be improved

In the management style and communication. There is still a lot of work to be done on honesty.

Last years rated "very good". This year: only "good". Reason: the statistics need to be adjusted... others should also be able to do very well, so this time only "good", although you are actually rated "very good". So: bad mark, so that the curve is correct. Improvement potential: Communication, adjust salary to rising expenses, more support for the employee, allow home office for persons at risk, qualities of the employee should be used more, work and family is difficult to reconcile.

This works well in the company

Wage structure: The wage level is basically fine. The annual performance reviews and inflation adjustment automatically lead to salary increases - regardless of actual performance. Even employees who only do the bare minimum benefit from this. Although various further training opportunities and courses are available, not everyone is happy to attend them. Individual course content comes to nothing as it is neither implemented nor recognized - possibly because its implementation would involve additional effort or could be seen as indirect criticism of the existing management style. However, if further training is actively supported by line managers or is supported by them, implementation usually goes smoothly.

This could be improved

Management and employee concerns: Line managers show little commitment to employee concerns. Only when the HR department is involved does the impression arise that employee satisfaction has been a high priority from the outset. Racist and sexist incidents were repeatedly reported. Nevertheless, there were no consequences, as no one was apparently prepared to deal with unpleasant issues. Overtime regulations: Overtime is generally tolerated and approved at the end of the month without any complications. However, as soon as the issue is raised, pressure is exerted to have the overtime paid out instead of compensated in the form of time off. Social benefits: The social benefits offered are no longer up to date and do not meet current standards. The interest rate is low, even if the employer contributes a slightly higher share. Team dynamics: There is a noticeable tension between academically trained employees and those with a commercial background. In general, dissatisfaction with management is widespread. High-performing employees are given preferential treatment - even if their behavior towards the team is problematic - as long as their productivity is right.

Rejection due to C badge

Applicant

19 July 2018

I completed my apprenticeship at the Bund and applied a few years later again at the same place as an employee. I was familiar with all the superiors and employees. I knew operational procedures through my training. I had a job interview and a week later it came to wage negotiations. In the end I got a rejection because I have a C-card and I am an Italian citizen. My mother grew up in Switzerland and my father is Swiss. I was allowed to do the apprenticeship but was not allowed to work as an employee. I would have preferred a direct refusal than such an audacious game.

For me, the years I worked at the Bund were like holidays. And then very well paid. Unfortunately, I got bored someday.

gigantic show

Former employee

09 November 2018

The work, if you can call it that, was pure show during my many years of employment. It was all about making it seem to the outside world how much work we have. But effectively, we haven't worked half a day. With internet surfing and eternal coffee breaks we have spent our time. And I'm not talking about 20 years ago. I still mean 2018, but the pay was great.

Already had some interviews and in different departments. The interview process, the questions, the superiors sitting opposite you and many other things... Underground bad and very precarious. I have never seen such strange and conservative people in a company as the Bund.

Qualification is not decisive

Applicant

29 October 2018

Although my qualification meets all the requirements described in the job advertisement, suddenly a rejection comes from the company. Apparently the qualification alone is not decisive, in order to come at all into the interview.
