With your expertise, you ensure that valuable resources remain in cycles and that waste is disposed of or recycled in an environmentally responsible manner. You take responsibility for complex approval procedures, advise companies and municipalities, and make an important contribution to environmental protection and resource conservation through your commitment.

Your tasks

  • You implement the requirements of the federal and cantonal waste legislation and process approval and supervisory procedures in the area of industrial, commercial and special waste
  • You advise companies, disposal firms and municipalities on complex disposal issues and monitor the lawful disposal of industrial and commercial waste
  • You inspect and support waste facilities – especially in the area of scrap metal and sorting operations – and carry out controls
  • You independently lead interdisciplinary projects with technical and specialist issues and collaborate with municipal, cantonal and national authorities as well as expert committees
  • You maintain specialist applications and support their further development

Your profile

  • University degree in a technical field (mechanical engineer, environmental engineer, chemist or similar) or equivalent training/experience
  • Several years of professional experience, especially in the enforcement of environmental protection legislation and related ordinances (waste law, chemical legislation), occupational safety and health protection are desirable
  • Motivating, persuasive personality with assertiveness
  • Independent, responsible and solution-oriented working style
  • Very good German skills in spoken and written form; good French skills are an advantage
