Our Special Primary School Nils Holgersson (Cycle 3) is located in Wattenwil. In the multi-age classes, both internal and external pupils are taught. Placement is carried out on behalf of various specialist offices, authorities, and social insurance institutions. This includes socially pedagogically managed residential groups in Seftigen and Uetendorf.
Our goal is the social and educational support of adolescents and young adults according to their individual needs, abilities, and development possibilities, as well as their support in career choice.

Responsibilities
You will take on the operational management of our special primary school at lower secondary level with around 22 young people in small and very small class settings and the residential groups. You will lead the school in educational, organisational, and financial matters. You will lead the interdisciplinary team of teachers, remedial and social pedagogues with clarity, appreciation, and foresight and promote constructive collaboration. You will continuously develop the school, teaching, and range of services. You will maintain cooperation with the Education and Culture Directorate, the Cantonal Youth Office, and other authorities. In addition to your leadership role, you will take on a teaching load. You will work closely with the Board of Trustees and the partner organisation "agilas – bilden bewegt".
Requirements
- You have a teaching diploma for lower secondary level (Cycle 3) or a comparable qualification.
- Ideally, you have a remedial education qualification or a comparable professional further education.
- You have completed headteacher training or an equivalent leadership training.
- You bring leadership experience and solid experience working with adolescents and young adults in a social pedagogical or psychiatric context.
- You have good knowledge of the Bernese educational landscape, the various educational pathways, and the transition opportunities in training and the labour market.
