About the job
Together with social counselling, you support people in difficult life situations with integration and securing their livelihood. To do this, you do not only perform administrative tasks but also work personally with clients.
The Social Services department provides services for the population within the framework of economic and personal assistance. It is responsible, among other things, for the accommodation and care of asylum seekers and those seeking protection and pursues an integration mandate for all clients.
Uetikon am See is an attractive residential and working community on Lake Zurich. An active village life, modern infrastructure and forward-looking projects shape the development of our community. For around 6,700 residents and nearly 200 companies, we provide customer-oriented services in one of the most modern municipal buildings in Switzerland. We are looking to strengthen our team from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Administrative support of social counselling (e.g. obtaining and preparing documents, claiming insurance benefits, coordinating work integration offers)
- Personal conversations with clients (including home visits if necessary)
- Promoting clients’ independence in administrative matters
- Administration related to clients’ housing
- Organisation and support with moves
- Work in the department secretariat (correspondence, list maintenance, data filing)
- Managing the counter and telephone
Your skills
- You have a commercial basic education (EFZ or comparable qualification); professional experience in municipal administration is an advantage.
- You appreciate customer contact, are solution-oriented and convince as a resilient and discreet personality.
- You meet people of diverse origins and life situations openly, respectfully and without prejudice.
- You keep an overview, work independently and step in flexibly when active support is needed, from move organisation to short-term tasks.
- You communicate confidently in German; additional foreign language skills are an advantage.
- You have good user knowledge of common Office programmes; experience with "Tutoris" and "CMI" is desirable.
Our offer
You can expect a well-coordinated and helpful team that will carefully introduce you to your tasks. Attractive employment conditions, flexible working hours within the framework of the time regulations and a modern working environment are a matter of course for us. Mobility is highly valued: staff parking, e-charging stations in the underground car park, two S-Bahn lines, local buses as well as e-bikes and municipal vehicles are available. We see further training not as a one-off measure but as an integral part of our leadership culture.
