About the job
Employee: Construction Projects including Site Management
Challenging construction projects in the university and research environment
Research and teaching place special demands on rooms and buildings. At ETH Zurich, construction tasks arise where off-the-shelf solutions do not always fit. That is exactly what makes the work exciting: We think along, plan, tinker with details, and develop solutions together that prove themselves in everyday use.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed individual who enjoys taking responsibility for their own tasks, is technically interested, and wishes to develop professionally.
What to expect
Varied construction projects: You will work on exciting renovation and adaptation projects at ETH Zurich – with different technical requirements and always new challenges. Independently implement small projects: Depending on your experience, you will take on smaller construction projects and accompany them from preparation and tendering through execution to completion. You will keep an eye on deadlines, costs, and quality. Make a big impact in the team: For larger and more complex projects, you will work closely with our team and take on your own areas of responsibility. Develop technical solutions: You will clarify technical questions, coordinate details with specialist planners and contractors, and find practical solutions together with them. From planning to implementation: You will be involved in tenders, offer comparisons, and execution documents and accompany the work on site if necessary. Occasional plan revisions are also part of the role. Develop yourself: You can contribute your experience, learn new things, and gradually take on more responsibility.
What you bring
Training in construction or technical fields, for example as a draughtsperson EFZ, site manager, technician HF, architect FH, or a comparable qualification. Initial professional experience in construction, planning, on site, or in a technical environment. Technical understanding and enjoyment in finding practical solutions. A structured, reliable way of working and willingness to engage with new topics. Enjoyment of collaboration, open communication, and initiative.
CAD skills and experience with Messerli are advantageous but not always a prerequisite. We are open to different professional backgrounds. More important to us is that you think along, ask questions, and enjoy working on new tasks.
What we offer
Varied construction tasks in research, teaching, and office buildings – with technical challenges that require thinking. A broad range of tasks where planning, technical questions, and practical implementation come together. A small, committed team where support is given, knowledge is shared, and better solutions are developed together. A respectful working atmosphere, short communication paths, and the opportunity to contribute your own ideas. Professional development opportunities and the chance to gradually take on more responsibility.
You do not need to be able to do everything yet. What matters is that you want to make a difference and enjoy developing good solutions together.
